About

Maeve became a certified yoga teacher in 2009,

a certified Y12SR guide in 2014, and a certified mindfulness meditation teacher in 2024. From 2009-2019, she taught yoga and meditation at various studios and resorts including Sacred Rivers Yoga, Mighty Yoga, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, Twin Farms, Groups & Upper Valley Turning Point.

Maeve’s meditation practice has changed over time… and loosened up a bit too. The practice (which has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety, enhance focus and concentration, improve sleep and cognitive function, and develop stability, resilience, and clarity) is about learning to be gentle and compassionate with yourself so you can be gentle and compassionate with others. For Maeve, her meditation practice was also key in helping her get—and stay—sober. She now celebrates more than six years of sobriety.

As Susan Piver says in her book The Four Noble Truths of Love, “We are not meditating to be good at meditation. Instead, we are training in present awareness. We train in order to be right here, fully human, riddled with brilliance and confusion, completely vulnerable, and terrifyingly available. As it turns out, this is also the ideal mindstate for love.”
